Install

Install the PolymitaPay MCP into Claude Code, Claude Desktop, or any MCP client.

Run this in a terminal:

npx @polymitapay/mcp

This walks you through everything in one pass: pick testnet (free, for trying this out) or mainnet; get a wallet (generates and funds a free testnet wallet automatically, or lets you paste a seed you already have); shows the security warning below before it asks for anything sensitive; offers to set spending limits; then detects Claude Code and/or Claude Desktop on your machine and offers to install into whichever ones aren't set up yet.

Restart your MCP client afterward and the tools show up.

Never commit your seed.

Cursor, Windsurf, and VS Code can pull it from an environment variable instead of storing it in a config file. Claude Desktop only accepts the plain value, so treat that config file as a secret.

Manual install

If the interactive setup can't reach your client, or you'd rather wire it up by hand:

Claude Code reads its MCP config from ~/.claude.json. Use its own CLI rather than editing that file directly:

claude mcp add polymitapay -s user \
  -e POLYPAY_WALLET_SEED=s... \
  -e POLYPAY_NETWORK=testnet \
  -- npx -y @polymitapay/mcp

For testing, the easiest way to get a free seed is the XRPL testnet faucet — one click generates a wallet and funds it with free test XRP. Testnet is a full copy of the XRPL network used purely for testing, completely separate from the real network.

Restart your client afterward — no separate install step, npx fetches the package on first run.

Next: Configuration reference for every setting, or Verify & test your install once it's running.
