Networks
Testnet vs. mainnet, and how a provider's network is decided.
PolymitaPay runs on two completely separate XRPL ecosystems:
- Testnet — free, purpose-built for trying things out. Wallets are funded with test XRP that's worth nothing real.
- Mainnet — the real network, real funds.
They don't mix: a wallet verified on one doesn't carry over to the other, and a provider registered on one is invisible to agents querying the other — see the catalog API.
How a provider's network is decided
A provider's network is set once, at registration time, from your account's resolved network at that moment — it's a frozen snapshot, not a live value that updates if your account's network preference changes later. If you need a provider on the other network, register it again after switching.
Matching it on the agent side
If you're installing wallet-mcp-server to consume the catalog rather
than provide to it, the network is set via POLYPAY_NETWORK in its own
config — it has to match the network a provider was registered under for
that provider to show up. See the MCP's
configuration reference.
